A total of 14 junior mixed curling teams are gearing up for the European Youth Olympic Festival 2019 which starts this Sunday (10 February) in Pale, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Peki Arena.
The venue holds 2,160 seats and is a familiar host to a variety of sports including volleyball, basketball, handball and gymnastics.
The teams are split into two groups and each group will play in a round-robin stage. After that the top two teams of each group will advance to the play-offs. The team ranked first will play the second ranked team in the opposite group. The winners of the semi-finals will advance to the gold medal game while the losers will play for bronze medals.
Group A: Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Great Britain, Hungary, Russia and Turkey
Group B: Croatia, Germany, Italy, Norway, Poland, Slovenia and Switzerland
The round robin begins at 08:30 on Monday (11 February) and runs until 17:00 on Thursday 14 February. The semi-finals will take place at 09:00 on Friday 15 February, with both medal games following at 13:30.

The European Youth Olympic Festival is Europe's first elite multi-sport event for athletes between the ages of 14 and 18, which is seen as a gateway to the Olympic Winter Games. Around 1,600 athletes will compete across all sports. For many athletes, this is their first time on the world stage.
The eight sports in the European Youth Olympic Festival are alpine skiing, biathlon, cross country, figure skating, ice hockey, short track speed skating, snowboarding and curling.
