Depredation Permits Common Raven Removal Nevada NEPA Documents

The United States Fish and Wildlife Service prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act for the purpose of evaluating the reasonably foreseeable environmental impacts of making decisions on Common Raven permits for take in the state of Nevada. This concerns increasing the number of covered take of ravens primarily for the purpose of protecting livestock, agricultural resources, sensitive wildlife, and human health and safety. While this EA considers the potential environmental impacts of permitting actions, the Service will evaluate each permit application individually and make future decisions based on the criteria set forth in 50 C.F.R. ยงยง 21.100 (depredation), 21.73 (scientific collection), 21.95 (special purpose), and any future regulations that allow for lethal take. The analysis detailed in the EA resulted in selection of the preferred alternative and a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI). The FONSI and final EA documents are provided here.
