TITUSVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT ACHIEVES ACCREDITATION
Friday, May 03, 2019
The Titusville Police Department has been reaccredited by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA).
CFA Assessors, composed of law enforcement professionals from agencies throughout the State of Florida, conducted a thorough evaluation of the department in December of 2018. The evaluation findings revealed that there were no deficiencies.
In addition, CFA assessors were complimentary of the agency and made it clear in their report to the Commission that they were impressed with the quality of staff and the work performed.
The status of accreditation signifies that through an independent authority, agencies have met specific requirements including over 235 standards meant to maintain the highest quality of law enforcement service.
'Accreditation ensures we are using the best practices in the State and it's a coveted recognition we can all be very proud of', said Chief John Lau. 'We could not have achieved this milestone in professionalism without the tireless efforts put forth by every member of our agency', add Lau.
The department has been an accredited agency since 2010 and each reaccreditation cycle is three years.
