Participants of the Russian-Serbian exercise BARS 2021 completed their first flights

Joint Russian-Serbian crews of Mi-35 combat helicopters performed their first flights at the Ladzhevtsi airfield during the BARS 2021 tactical flight exercise.

Army aviation pilots worked out flight missions at established intervals and distances, simple and complex aerobatics in a given zone, as well as combat cover for units involved in the evacuation of conditionally in distress.

Each of the Mi-35 helicopter crews participating in the BARS 2021 exercise completed the entire range of planned flight missions of the first flight day.

"The purpose of this exercise is to train the joint crews of Russia and Serbia on MiG-29 aircraft, Mi-8 and Mi-35 helicopters to perform tasks as intended. The day before, theoretical training was carried out and from today we started practical flights, during which we worked out the coherence of the crews and the flight during group flights, flights on complex aerobatics, landing on an unprepared site with independent selection from the air. Starting tomorrow, we will play the tactical episodes of the exercise," - the head of the exercise from the Russian side, Colonel Konstantin Surikov said.

Joint Russian and Serbian crews on MiG-29 aircraft and Mi-8 and Mi-35 helicopters are taking part in the BARS 2021 exercise.

As part of the exercise, the flight crew will work out combat maneuvering and air combat as part of a pair, performing attacks on low-speed targets on MiG-29 fighters; landing and evacuation of subunits in distress, complex aerobatics, combat use and other tasks as intended on Mi-8 and Mi-35 helicopters.

The tactical flight exercise BARS 2021 is being held in accordance with the plan of international military cooperation and will last until October 16, 2021.

It involves about 10 units of aviation equipment of the Air Force and Air Defence Forces of Serbia.
