This was a clean bill - Congressman Kelly can never say he supports protections for people with pre-existing conditions ever again
Tonight, in a vote that shocked no one, Congressman Kelly sided with big insurance companies by voting to let them charge people with pre-existing conditions significantly more for their health care. As Americans continue struggling with the rising cost of health care, this clean bill designed to protect the 130 million Americans with pre-existing conditions, passed with bipartisan support - but that wasn't enough for Congressman Kelly to stand up for hardworking Pennsylvanians.
This vote comes on the heels of Congressman Kelly's vote early in the year to back a lawsuit that, if successful, would raise health care and prescription drug prices, slap an age tax on older Americans for their coverage, and take away protections for 298,500 Pennsylvanians - at least Congressman Kelly is on brand!
'No matter what Congressman Kelly says, he has a clear record of voting to raise health care costs by ripping away protections for 298,500 Pennsylvanians with preexisting conditions,' said DCCC Spokesperson Mike Gwin. 'With so many seniors and hardworking families struggling with the rising cost of health care, it's alarming that Washington Republicans like Mike Kelly keep voting to put big health insurance company profits ahead of Pennsylvanians.'
