Proposed Water, Wastewater, & Irrigation Rate Schedule 2022-2025

A proposed study for the water, wastewater, and irrigation rates is currently in review for the 2022-2025 schedule.

Anticipated changes or increase to the current utility water, wastewater, & irrigation rates are going to be proposed for approval during the upcoming months. The 2nd rate presentation is anticipated to take place on the October 7, 2021 Board of Supervisors' Meeting. Q: What does this mean for you ?

A: If you receive a water bill from Gateway Services, the rate schedule starting January 2022 may change pending approval of the proposed rate schedule. (Start date subject to change)

Q: When will the new rate schedule start ?

A: If approved for a January 2022 start date, the new rates will be reflected on the March 2021 bill statements.

Q: Why is the rate schedule changing ?

A: A rate study is conducted every 3 or 5 years and may vary based on the impact of growth, future development and capital improvement.

Q: What changes will take place with a new rate schedule ?

A: Changes to the new rate schedule may include an increase in annual base and usage charge. The volume of gallons/consumption tiers blocks may change as well.

For Example: The Base Charge for water may increase from $13.00 a month to $13.50 a month. Or the Volume of water used under a tier block may change from 0-25,000 gallons a month to 0-15,000 gallons a month under Tier Rate 1.

Q: Will you be notified of a Public Hearing ?

A: A Public Hearing & Notices as it pertains to proposed rates are required to be publicly posted and notified to all residents and businesses. Notice maybe posted on Facebook, GSCDD website, local newspaper, mailed, & emailed to all HOAs.

Q: When was the proposed rate study communicated ?

A: Gateway Services staff has communicated with HOAs during summer of 2021. The first presentation took place during the April 2021 Board of Supervisors' meeting. Staff has also attended community HOA meetings and posted on the GSCDD website.
