Assemblyman Thomson to Serve on Education, Law & Public Safety, & Consumer Affairs Committees

WALL, N.J. - Assemblyman Edward H. 'Ned' Thomson will serve on key legislative committees dealing with crime and policing issues as well as panels that focus on education and consumer protections.

'I am pleased to serve on these legislative committees that focus on issues that are very important to the residents that I represent,' said Thomson. 'These committees will be dealing with a number of critical matters in the coming months and I am eager to get to work.'

Thomson, who was sworn in on August 24 to replace Dave Rible, will fill positions on the Assembly Law and Public Safety Committee and Education Committee and will also serve on the Consumer Affairs Committee.

'Ensuring our children are provided with a high quality education is absolutely vital to our state's future,' added Thomson. 'Serving on the Education Committee will give me the ability to help shape education policy in our state.'

Thomson also expressed his eagerness to begin considering legislation that will come before the Law and Public Safety and Consumer Affairs Committees.

'Maintaining the safety of our communities is one of my top priorities and will help guide my decisions as a member of the Law and Public Safety Committee,' he said. 'As a small business owner and resident of an area that has had to deal with a significant amount of Sandy-related fraud, I will bring a unique perspective to the Consumer Affairs Committee.'
