KAREN ALCORN, KITCHEN DESIGNER

Karen has a degree in Interior Design, with a focus on kitchen and bath design. Karen enjoys the challenge of making each kitchen unique to the homeowner's taste. She believes that the kitchen is the heart of the home and should be special no matter how big or small. Karen listens well to the customer to help them get what they are looking for. She has a positive attitude and will go the extra mile to serve her customers.

"I like creating new spaces that are more efficient for the customer. And, I especially love seeing what we have created together."

HOPE MURPHY, KITCHEN DESIGNER

After graduating from Connecticut College with a BA in Studio Art/Photography, Hope completed a carpentry program at trade school in Boston. Following 10-years of working as a carpenter in the western Boston suburbs, she moved to Maine to start a design-build company with her husband. The duo focused on designing kitchens and additions, along with building and installing cabinetry on older homes in the Seacoast area. Outside of work, Hope loves cooking, walking her dog, and playing in her glass fusing studio. An artist, business owner, and designer Hope brings tremendous experience and passion in designing and creating vibrant interior spaces.

Jeremy has a true passion for his work as a kitchen and bath designer. He thoroughly enjoys the design process starting with the initial meeting with the client and wrapping up with the final job site visit upon completion. The most satisfying feature of the job for Jeremy is seeing the excitement of the customer at the end of the project. Every project, large or small, is unique in its own way and Jeremy enjoys the challenges that are presented in each project.

With over 30-years of experience, Val has grown up in the business-from being a countertop fabricator to an office manager for New Hampshire's largest countertop fabricator, working with a custom cabinet maker and finally getting into design which she's been doing for the last 20-years. Val's hands-on experience enables her to not only create a beautiful design, but also ensure the installers can successfully build the space correctly in the field. After two decades of designing, Val still gets excited when she sees her customer's face admiring the space they created together. Taking what they imagine and making it real never gets old. In her free time, Val camps, hikes, rides a Harley, plays guitar, is a beekeeper, and loves Yoga.

JESSICA ENMAN, KITCHEN DESIGNER

Jessica enjoys being creative while having fun in designing her clients' spaces. For her, being a kitchen and bath designer really is the dream job and one that is forever changing - with new clients, new spaces, and new products. Jessica takes pride in being an excellent listener, and takes the time to ask questions that will result in a design that is well thought out and executed. With a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Jessica has a wide range of knowledge and an excellent skillset that help with many aspects of being a kitchen and bath designer.

"The most satisfying part of this job is helping my clients determine and incorporate exactly what they are looking for in a project. I help them go from a couple of notes jotted on the back of an envelope to serving their family dinner from their dream kitchen."

Rachel brings 18 years of building materials industry experience to her kitchen designs, including understanding the construction and remodeling process. Her attention to detail and ability to recognize the customer's needs ensure that she can create a design to fit any aesthetic, budget or space. She enjoys working with both builders and homeowners, finding the intersection between functionality and design for each client. Rachel's industry knowledge, attention to detail, and creativity combine to bring tremendous value to our kitchen and bath design team.

"My favorite part of the design process is finding that "WOW" moment for the client. It can be something small like an accessory, or major, such as an entire layout change. You can tell when we find that one thing that truly excites them, it changes their entire perspective on their kitchen."

For over 20 years Steve has been designing kitchens and bathrooms throughout Maine and New Hampshire. Berta holds both a Bachelor and Master of Fine Arts degree and has been a kitchen designer for over 20 years. From speculative houses or small renovations to fine custom residences, Berta brings enthusiasm to every project. In her spare time, Berta enjoys creating mixed media sculptures.

With 14 years of experience in the construction industry, and seven years as a Kitchen Designer, Jenny offers clients a wealth of experience and knowledge. Whether customers are looking to renovate an income property or create the kitchen of their dreams, Jenny provides the same attention to detail on each project. Additionally, Jenny will help keep customers within their budget and guide them through every step of the decision making process.

Dan Hanley worked as a remodeling contractor for 13 years, bringing a very valuable point of view to kitchen design. Over the past 20 years, he has been applying his skills exclusively to kitchen and bath design in the Midcoast area. Dan appreciates the value kitchens hold in our homes and steps up to the challenge that each unique space brings. Having the construction background really helps Dan key in on the importance of functionality needed in a kitchen space.

Taylor joins Hancock Lumber with an array of experience in design-from ski condo renovations to new home kitchen designs. Every day is different as a designer and Taylor enjoys this aspect of the job, along with meeting new clients and working on a variety of projects. Focused on the details, Taylor brings the vision together by organizing the specifics to create a design that is functional, beautiful, and exactly what the customer desires. While the entire process is fulfilling-working with clients from the beginning to end-one of her favorite parts is seeing the client's face when the kitchen is entirely finished.

Lisa joins Hancock Lumber with over 19 years of kitchen, bath & interior design experience. She also spent five years presenting workshops on mindfulness and the power of positive thinking. Given this unique skill set, Lisa's purposeful application of the principles of positivity to the design and construction process helps foster a spirit of optimism and collaboration among the homeowner, contractors and vendors. Lisa believes collaboration, positivity and kindness make for the most satisfying and fun projects.

Jason has been in the building industry for 20+ years and has specialized in kitchen and bath design and sales for fifteen of them. One of the things Jason enjoys most about working with customers is helping them design the kitchen of their dreams. On his days off he enjoys activities with his son, including anything from hiking and camping to fishing and swimming.

"Being able to bring a customer's vision to life is one of the things I love most-from the time we initially meet to seeing the final project installed, it's a journey filled with so many decisions and emotions. Dan is a new addition to our Time Savings Solutions team working alongside our window service division. As our in-house cabinet medic, Dan will be available to help customers after cabinets are unpackaged prior to installation when the unexpected manufacturing or shipping dings, dents, or scratches arise. Touching-up or repairing cabinet finishes? Hardware that's been knocked off its path, or doors that have become unhinged? No problem. Dan is the resource for you. He can jump in on the job site, and while he's working on those details, you can keep your construction schedule moving forward rather than having to wait for the "factory guy" to get onsite, inspect, and put a plan together! Dan is also available to fine tune your customers kitchen cabinets. After a few years of celebrations and holidays, cabinets can begin to show their age. Dan can help bring them back to looking like new.
