Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation arrives on a working trip to the troops of the Southern Military District

Russian Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu arrived at the troops of the Southern Military District, where he will check the progress of the construction of new basing points for the Caspian Flotilla.

As part of the working trip, the head of the military department will inspect the basing point of surface ships in Makhachkala, the basing point under construction in Kaspiysk, as well as the training base of the detachment for combating submarine sabotage forces and means.

The Minister of Defence will also hear a report from the command of the Southern Military District and the Caspian Flotilla on the implementation of combat training activities, the organization of the educational process of formations and military units deployed in the region.

In addition, Sergei Shoigu will check the progress of the state defence order.
