Open Houses to Discuss South Dakota Freight Plan

PIERRE, S.D. - The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) will hold two public meetings/open houses on Tuesday, June 20, at 5:30 p.m. CDT at the Sioux Falls University Center Administration Building room 250 (4801 Career Ave.) and Wednesday, June 21, at 5:30 p.m. MDT at the SDDOT Rapid City Region Office (2300 Eglin St.). The SDDOT will receive public input on the South Dakota Freight plan.

The open houses will be informal allowing for one on one discussion with SDDOT personnel. The purpose of the meeting is to present and discuss the goals, objectives and strategies identified in the South Dakota Freight Plan. People who have interest in freight issues are encouraged to attend and participate in the plan. A brief presentation will take place at 5:35 p.m. Comments will be accepted until July 21, 2017.

For those who cannot attend the open house or would like additional information on the overall study, information is available online at www.SDDOT.com. The presentations and displays shown at the open house will be available online within a few days after the open house meetings. The study team would appreciate hearing from the area commuters, concerned citizens, freight carriers, ag producers and interested parties concerned with freight movement.
