STL service will begin with one flight daily and grow to two each day

ST. LOUIS (June 10, 2021): This morning, American Airlines (AA) announced it will begin new direct daily service from St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) into and out of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) in Austin, Texas. American says the new route is the result of increased customer demand.

In September, American will begin once daily direct service to AUS, but by October 7 American will add an additional daily flight to their STL schedule. The airline adds customers will be able to purchase tickets to this new STL destination starting on June 14.

'We are delighted that American Airlines is adding direct service to Austin,' said Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge, STL Director. 'This new destination by American allows leisure travelers in St. Louis to not only visit one of the nation's best locations for music and outdoor recreation, but gives business travelers a direct link to one of the premiere high-tech marketplaces.'

In making the announcement of this new service for STL, Brain Znotins, American's Vice President of Network Planning said, 'Earlier this year we added more flights from Austin, and customers have spoken: they want more. We're eager to offer our customers even more opportunities to reconnect with family, friends and colleagues. Together with our partners, we're making it easier than ever to connect Austin with the world.'

The STL's new direct route is part of American Airlines celebration of 40 years of service in AUS. At STL, AA ticketing operations are located in Terminal 1. The airline's gates are located in Concourse C. The airline has a 16 percent market share of enplaned passengers at STL.
