ONA Weekly 377: Resolve Philly, NYT, Trusting News And More At #ONAInsights

We are just one month away from ONA Insights (Oct. 14-15). Choose your own conference experience : Get the All-Access Pass to reconnect with ONA peers in Philadelphia or the Virtual-Only Pass to stream select sessions remotely. Community members joining the conference so far include leaders from The Philadelphia Inquirer, Dot Connector Studio, Detroit Free Press, Center for Public Integrity, The New York Times and more.

Over the two days, we will dive into new approaches for audience development, product and work culture to inform newsrooms' 2022 strategy. The conference will feature about 50 speakers and facilitators who will discuss fresh ideas and collaborate on workshops and template building. Speakers include:

  • Resolve Philly's Aubrey Nagle, Reframe Editor, and John Hernandez, Senior Editorial Associate, on techniques for quick content analyses to assess the story behind your stories-and why it's an important process
  • Lynn Walsh, Assistant Director, Trusting News, on product solutions to common journalism problems
  • Caroline Bauman, Community Engagement Strategist at Chalkbeat, and Terry Parris, Jr., Director of Engagement for The CITY, on how even tiny newsrooms can create impactful virtual events to grow their audiences

If you're excited to learn and network at ONA Insights but the cost is prohibitive, we encourage you to apply for a scholarship. Applications are due Sept. 24. We are offering three types of scholarships: Diversity and Inclusion, sponsored by Alley; Students and New Professionals and Caregiver Support. The scholarships can support either in-person or virtual participation (select when you apply).

Please note: All participants in Philadelphia are required to provide proof of vaccination against Covid-19 and to wear face masks indoors. Plus, we're limiting the number of All Access Passes to facilitate distancing during sessions.
