GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's soccer team hosted Stockton Wednesday night, battling the unbeaten Ospreys to a 0-0 draw on Jean Lenox West Field.
FOR THE RECORD: The Knights now hold a 3-1-1 record on the season, while Stockton moved to 5-0-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The contests' opening 45 minutes proved to be a possession battle with each team firing five shots before the Knights came out with offensive pressure to start the second half. Senior tested Stockton goalkeeper Kellen Groover with the first shot of the half just over five minutes into the frame. Just over two minutes later junior fired a shot from the left side of the box just barely missing to the left of the frame. Senior goalkeeper stood tall between the pipes in the 64 minute with two key saves, then denied a header attempt in the 69 minute. Fast-forward to the closing minutes of the second half and the Knights maintained tremendous pressure with three shots over the final three minutes. The extra sessions were evenly matched just as the first half was. The Scarlet and Grey held possession down the stretch, with freshman taking the final shot of the contest with 31 ticks on the clock.
IN GOAL: Watson denied eight shots for Arcadia as he moved to 3-1-1 on the year. Stockton's Kellen Groover made three saves to move to 5-0-1.
