New York Life partners with New York Yankees on new $100,000 Strikeout Series benefitting SCAN Harbor.

NEW YORK - New York Life, America's largest mutual life insurer1, today announced a new Strikeout Series in partnership with the New York Yankees to benefit SCAN Harbor. As the largest youth service provider in Harlem, East Harlem and the South Bronx, SCAN Harbor supports "at risk" children and their families to achieve positive life goals.

As part of the Strikeout Series, New York Life will donate $100 for each strikeout by a New York Yankees pitcher during regular season home games, up to $100,000. The Strikeout Series has already raised $4,600, following 46 Yankee strikeouts during the first six home games.

"New York Life and the New York Yankees share a commitment to positively impacting communities where our teams live and work," said Heather Nesle, President, New York Life Foundation. "SCAN Harbor's services are aligned with our own focus on supporting afterschool and summer programming, and we're grateful to the Yankees for introducing us to this exceptional organization. We look forward to creating brighter futures for children and families together."

Strikeout Series funds will be used to support vitally needed afterschool programming resources for Bronx-based middle school children.

"The Strikeout Series exemplifies what a corporate partnership should be about," said Brian Smith, New York Yankees Senior Vice President of Corporate/Community Relations. "New York Life wanted to impact the community in the area around Yankee Stadium, and we were able to collectively initiate a program with SCAN Harbor that has clear quality of life benefits for local children and working families. We are excited to further our relationship with New York Life and look forward to continued collaboration in the future."

"The support that New York Life is providing for afterschool programming for middle schoolers is absolutely critical," said Lewis Zuchman, SCAN Harbor Executive Director. "The middle-school demographic is the most vulnerable school-aged population, and it was particularly hard hit by COVID, with many early teens and preteens falling behind in their academic and social-emotional education. This funding will accelerate their growth on both fronts, and we are grateful to both New York Life and the Yankees for their partnership."

Through this partnership, New York Life and the New York Yankees will leverage the power of sports to drive meaningful social impact and support those most in need.

This initiative coincides with expanded New York Life signage throughout the Stadium, including the New York Life logo placed atop the home and visiting team dugouts, home plate rotational signage, outfield wall signage, and in-game scoreboard features which will also appear on television monitors throughout the building. This increased visibility further underscores the company's steadfast commitment to supporting the local community and becoming a part of the fan experience at Yankee Stadium.
