St. Joseph’s Hospital recognizes Perioperative Nurses and Surgical Staff in November

BUCKHANNON, WV - WVU Medicine St. Joseph's Hospital recognized its perioperative nurses and surgical staff during the annual celebration held November 14-20. Perioperative nursing focuses on safe patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. As a fundamental member of the surgical team, the perioperative registered nurse works in collaboration with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical assistants, and other assistive personnel.

Perioperative nursing requires highly specialized skills set gained from training and education. St. Joseph's Hospital thanks its perioperative nurses and our surgical staff for their dedication and commitment to ensuring patient safety.
