Reynolds inks NFL free agent deal with Washington Redskins

ASHBURN, Va. --
The National Football League's Washington Redskins announced the signing of Kutztown University running back and four others to free agent contracts on Monday afternoon.

'We're extremely proud of Craig and excited for this opportunity for him,' said Golden Bears head coach . 'This is a tremendous chance for him to get acclimated to professional football, train and impress an NFL team. He left his mark on KU football and we look forward to seeing him excel at the next level.'

Reynolds certainly impressed Washington head coach Jay Gruden and his staff during Redskins Rookie Minicamp this past weekend at the team's headquarters, becoming one of the first tryout invitees to ink a deal.

The Willow Grove, Pennsylvania native will join the Redskins for three weeks of Organized Team Activities (OTAs), beginning May 20-21. OTAs continue May 28-30 and wrap up June 10-12. Washington will also hold its mandatory minicamp from June 4-6.

Reynolds led the Golden Bears in rushing with 823 yards and 15 TDs on 172 carries last season, and moved atop KU's all-time rushing touchdown list with 35.

The all-purpose threat also caught 40 passes for 472 yards and three scores. He produced 1,675 all-purpose yards, including 380 in the return game, and threw for a score on his only pass attempt of the season.

A three-time Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division First Team and Don Hansen Gazette All-Region honoree, Reynolds was named honorable mention All-America by the Don Hansen Gazette following the 2018 season. He ranked fourth in the PSAC and 16th in NCAA Division II with 152.27 all-purpose yards per game. Reynolds capped his Kutztown career second in career all-purpose yards (5,277) and third in rushing yards (2,650).

Reynolds is the second former Golden Bear to sign an NFL free agent contract this offseason. Guard Jordan Morgan, who played for KU between 2013-16, signed with the New York Jets back in February.
