CABEI meets with local elected government in Roatán, Honduras to identify support in the region

Tegucigalpa, January 16, 2022.- In order to learn first-hand about the initiatives of the plan that will be promoted by the new mayor of Roatan, Bay Islands of Honduras, and to identify joint opportunities to develop, this Sunday a mission of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) led by Executive President Dante Mossi, met with Mayor-elect Ronnie Richard McNab Thompson and his team.

"We are pleased with this first approach with the new municipal government in Roatán, with whom we were able to exchange ideas and initiatives that we as CABEI can support them in developing for the benefit of island families," said Mossi.

CABEI has previously developed a diagnosis of the municipality's needs and identified as a priority projects in the solid waste management, water, and sanitation sectors. The possibility of creating a ferry route between Roatán and Belize, which, like Honduras, is a CABEI member, is also being considered.
