TRAFFIC ALERT - New Castle County - I-95/Rt 896 Interchange--Upcoming Closures

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces to motorists that there will be daytime lane closures on northbound I-95 for truck access and overnight multi-lane closures on northbound and southbound I-95 for bridge work. Southbound I-95 EZPass lanes may be affected at times. Also, starting Monday, May 13th the on-ramps to southbound I-95 from Rt 896 will be closed for an extended period.

I-95 IMPACTS

· Monday, May 13th through Thursday, May 16th: Daytime lane closure, northbound I-95 from the Rt 896 interchange to the Welcome Center (9AM-6PM)

· Thursday, May 16th and Friday, May 17th: Overnight multi-lane closures, I-95 northbound and southbound between the Toll Plaza and the Rt 896 interchange. (10PM-6AM)

· Starting Monday May 13th (&AM) through July 1st, 2026: Long term ramp closure, northbound and southbound Route 896 on-ramps to southbound I-95. Motorists will be directed to the Rt 273 Interchange. The detour will be posted and can be seen below.
