Ruiz Secures More Vaccine Sites for Riverside County

Palm Desert, CA - Today, Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D. (CA-36) announced that Walmart will open new COVID-19 vaccination sites in Riverside County in the cities of San Jacinto, Beaumont, Hemet, and Palm Desert. Today's announcement is the latest development in Dr. Ruiz's advocacy to bring more vaccines to residents of California's 36th Congressional District. Last month, Dr. Ruiz called on Walmart President and CEO Doug McMillon to expand the number of states in which the company is offering COVID-19 vaccines and to prioritize locations in the hardest hit, highest risk underserved communities in Ruiz's district in eastern Riverside County.

'I am thrilled to announce that more vaccines are on their way to the residents of California's 36thdistrict,' said Dr. Ruiz. 'This is a victory for our communities and great progress in our fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. I am glad Walmart is answering my call to expand its vaccination sites and prioritize high-risk, underserved communities in Riverside County. This will aid our work to quickly and safely end this pandemic, and I will continue my aggressive advocacy for more vaccines for my constituents.'

Dr. Ruiz has worked tirelessly to get more vaccines for his constituents. Most recently, he administered vaccines to his constituents alongside the Desert Healthcare District at a Rite Aid mobile vaccine clinic at Desert Mirage High School in Thermal. After successfully advocating for more vaccines for Federally Qualified Health Centers, Dr. Ruiz announced the inclusion of Inland Behavioral Health Services and Borrego Community Health Foundation in the Federal Health Center COVID-19 Vaccine Program earlier this month.
