Kindness Wins and Madison Keys Awards Medal of Kindness to Thorne Employee Michelle Savell

CHARLESTON, SC (April 4, 2022) - Madison Keys, a Founding Champion for the nonprofit organization Kindness Wins and Thorne Ambassador, awarded a 'Medal of Kindness' during a visit to Thorne Headquarters to Michelle Savell, Inventory Management Lead at Thorne and a local advocate for inclusive youth athletics.

"I am so excited to present a Medal of Kindness to Michelle today for the work she is putting in to make the world a more inclusive place," said Keys. "Michelle's efforts to make sport and play available to all children, including those with special needs, is amazing. Michelle is a hero and so worthy of this recognition." Savell, an employee at Thorne since 2020, is heavily involved in the Summerville Miracle League, which organizes baseball and other athletic activities for children with special needs. Savell helped fundraise for the first inclusive playground in Summerville, Saul Alexander Park Playground, which is handicap accessible and designed for children of all abilities. "We are so appreciative of the time Madison spent with the Thorne team today and for recognizing one of our employees who is incredibly kind and a passionate advocate for inclusive youth athletics," said Tom McKenna, Chief Operating Officer of Thorne. "Thorne prides itself on the impact we make in and around the community and our culture that is rooted in making a difference. The Thorne team looks forward to continuing to support Madison and her endeavors both on and off the tennis court."

Kindness Wins, which launched in early 2020, encourages and spreads kindness to others across the globe. The Medal of Kindness recognizes individuals whose personal efforts have contributed to that concept. Today's medal is one in a series of acts - big and small - being recognized by Keys on an ongoing basis for individuals' and organizations' impacts on the world.
