Fazal Hadi Muslimyar, Speaker of the Meshrano Jirga, spoke to Mustafa Sentop, Speaker of the National Assembly of Turkey, by telephone.

First, the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament congratulated the Speaker of the Meshrano Jirga, members of the House, and the entire Afghan people on the occasion of Eid al-Adha and expressed his pleasure to speak with Mr. Muslimyar, and said that 'We are watching the situation in Afghanistan closely, and we are saddened by the current situation of our Muslim brothers. Peace in Afghanistan and the well-being of the Afghan people is our hope,'. Also, He added that the security and situation in Afghanistan affect the entire region and his country is committed to helping improve the situation. Mr. Shintop said, 'Turkey wanted peace and security in Afghanistan and was ready for any kind of co-operation in the Afghan peace process, including mediation.'

Then, The Speaker of the Senate, Fazal Hadi Muslimyar, thanked the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament for the telephone call and in likewise congratulated the Speaker, members of the Turkish Parliament and the Muslim people of Turkey on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, and said that Turkey is a brotherly and friendly country of Afghanistan and has a special place with Afghans. Moreover, he thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his recent remarks in his address to the Taliban and praised the country's important role in Afghanistan and the peace process. Fazal Hadi Muslimyar said that Afghanistan is historically in a very fragile and sensitive situation and Afghans want Turkey to use its influence in the region and the Islamic world to help Afghanistan truly contribute to the consolidation of peace.

Also, the two sides discussed the historical ties between the two friendly countries and stressed the need to strengthen these ties. Both sides expressed the view that Afghanistan and Turkey have remained friends throughout history, and both sides will work hard to strengthen this friendship
