Senator Rosen Visits Henderson Police Department, Meets With Local Law Enforcement to Discuss Need for More Officers and Additional Resources

HENDERSON, NV - This week, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) visited the Henderson Police Department in Southern Nevada and met with Police Chief Hollie Chadwick and other command leadership team members. They discussed the dire police officer shortage, the challenges with recruitment and retention, and the need for additional resources, including technology to continue fighting crime and keeping the community safe.

"The brave men and women of the Henderson Police Department put their lives on the line to keep our community safe, and it's a priority for me that they have the resources and support they need," said Senator Rosen. "I was glad to have a conversation with Chief Chadwick and other Henderson command leadership about the challenges they're facing and how I can continue to deliver for them in the U.S. Senate. I'll keep working across the aisle to make sure Nevada's law enforcement have the tools and funding necessary to fight crime and be safe."

Senator Rosen has consistently worked in a bipartisan way to support Nevada law enforcement and police departments. Earlier this year, she secured over $7 million for nine law enforcement projects across Nevada through the Fiscal Year 2024 funding bill. Last year, over $7.2 million she secured for law enforcement and first responders in the 2023 funding bill was delivered to communities throughout the state. Senator Rosen also helped pass the bipartisan Recruit and Retain Act in the Senate, which establishes a federal pipeline program supporting more collaboration between local law enforcement and schools to hire and retain more police officers. Senator Rosen has also worked to ensure local police departments are aware of federal funding opportunities to hire more officers and incentivize community policing efforts.
