The Force split games this weekend against the Tri-City Storm.
Tristan Broz was the sole scorer in the first period of Friday's game against the Storm. The Force defense were able to hold off Tri-City until the second period, where they squeaked two goals past goaltender Cole Brady.
The third period was postponed almost 24 hours after Friday's puck drop, as ice conditions were deemed too poor to play the third period. The period resumed prior to Saturday's game where the final 20 minutes remained scoreless. Final Tri-City 2, Fargo 1.
Tonight, the Force answered with a 5-3 win over the Storm.
The Force started hot in the first period with forwards Mason Salquist and Lynden Breen both scoring within the first six minutes of play. At the end of the first the Force led 2-1. In the second, Breen tacked on another goal giving the Force a two goal advantage.
Early in the third, Tri-City looked to make a comeback - scoring two goals to take the lead, 4-3. Then, in the final minutes of play forward Alex Nordstrom fired in two goals to solidify a 5-3 victory over the Storm.
Goaltender Cole Brady was in net, saving 27 of the 30 shots he faced.
The Force will be on the road again next weekend. They will return home Friday, December 27th and Saturday, December 28th for Ugly Sweater Night (Fri.) and the coveted Wiener Dog Races (Sat.). Tickets are available online or at the Scheels Arena box office.
