Public Invited to Meeting about Sidewalk Project

HANNIBAL - Individuals are invited to a public information meeting to discuss a future sidewalk project that will be taking place in Maywood. This will be an open house style meeting with no formal presentation. The proposed project is located along Route V, between Olive Avenue and 292nd Avenue.

Individuals who have property adjoining the project are encouraged to attend, as staff will be on hand to discuss the effects this project will have on property. This project is being completed as a part of MoDOT's initiative to bring all MoDOT facilities into compliance with the current standards of the American's with Disabilities Act, and is planned to start the summer of 2025.

"We are looking forward to completing this project, as we work towards our goal of making our transportation system accessible to everyone," said Project Manager Brian Untiedt.

The public information meeting will be held Wednesday, May 1 at the Maywood Fire Department located at 28722 State Highway V in Maywood, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. MoDOT representatives will be on hand to explain the project and answer any questions.

Work Zone Awareness Week is April 15 - 19. Work with us in the work zone! Please remember to obey all work zone signs and personnel. With an increased number of highway work zones in Missouri, we urge all drivers to pay attention every second while driving, especially through a work zone. Be informed of your route by checking the MoDOT Traveler Information Map before you leave to see if you will encounter any work zones.
