Weng Zuliang Meets with Cao Huiquan, Secretary of the Zhuzhou Municipal Party Committee

On the afternoon of January 11, Weng Zuliang, Chairman and Party Group Secretary of China Minmetals, met with Cao Huiquan, Secretary of the Zhuzhou Municipal Party Committee. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on further strengthening the cooperation between the central state-owned enterprise and local governments.

Weng Zuliang expressed his welcome to Cao Huiquan and his delegation, and introduced the business achievements of China Minmetals in recent years. He said that China Minmetals had always been following the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era for constantly improving corporate governance and stimulating strong momentum for company development. In 2021, China Minmetals maintained a positive and sound development trend, with annual operating revenue exceeding RMB 800 billion, presenting a brilliant start to the 14th Five-Year Plan with the best operating performance in history. China Minmetals will continue to thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on the reform and development of state-owned enterprises and Party building, and carry on strengthening, optimizing and expanding key responsibility and major business. All these are to make due contributions to the overall social and economic development with higher and better performance.

Weng Zuliang expressed his gratitude to the Zhuzhou Municipal Party Committee and Zhuzhou Municipal People's Government for their strong support for the development of China Minmetals' subsidiaries over the years. He pointed out that Zhuzhou was an important industrial town to which China Minmetals attached great importance. Meanwhile, he stressed that several subsidiaries had been deeply involved in the social development and urban construction of Zhuzhou for a long time, and that the two sides had established a profound foundation of cooperation and friendship. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China Minmetals will continue to constantly pursue world-class standards, effectively integrate the industrial chain and fully support the development and growth of competitive industries and innovation platforms. He hoped that the two sides could give full play to their own advantages, further expand the space for cooperation, strengthen cooperation efforts and yield fruitful results through mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation.

Cao Huiquan thanked China Minmetals for its long-term contribution to the economic and social development of Zhuzhou City and appreciated the outstanding achievements of China Minmetals in recent years. He also agreed with the cooperation proposal put forward by Chairman Weng Zuliang, and briefly introduced the basic situation of Zhuzhou City. At the meeting, he said that at present, Zhuzhou City was focusing on the strategy of "Three Highlands and Four New Missions" to start a new journey of "Building a Happy Zhuzhou as a Well-known Manufacturing City". He also pointed out that the industrial layout of China Minmetals in Zhuzhou was highly compatible with the "Three Highlands" strategy of Zhuzhou City, presenting broad prospects for development for China Minmetals. Besides, he stated that the Zhuzhou Municipal Party Committee and Zhuzhou Municipal People's Government would continue to improve the business environment, enhance resource allocation capabilities, and maintain a pragmatic and efficient work style to provide the best service for the high-quality development of enterprises.

Leaders of China Minmetals including Liu Caiming, Jiao Jian, Wang Shilei, and senior officials of Zhuzhou Municipal Party Committee and Zhuzhou Municipal People's Government including Yang Yingjie, Wang Weian and Wang Tingkai attended the meeting. Other participants include leaders of China Minmetals' head offices and directly-managed enterprises, including Xue Fei, Zhu Guangxia, Zeng Gang, Li Zhongze, Shao Bo, He Fayu, and relevant officials of the Zhuzhou Municipal Party Committee and Zhuzhou Municipal People's Government, including Xiang Yangming, Song Changzheng, Jiang Lin, Wan Hui and Lei Xuewen.
