McCarthy’s Kansas City Office Builds Momentum with Addition of Jeff Bennett as Business Development Director

Local construction business leader will guide continued expansion of national builder's growing Kansas City presence.

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. has expanded its Kansas City-based leadership team with the appointment of Jeff Bennett as the director of business development.

In this position, Bennett will build, nurture and strengthen relationships with current and potential clients as well as industry partners throughout the Kansas City region. He will focus his efforts on healthcare, advanced technology & manufacturing, and other markets while expanding McCarthy's local team of building experts dedicated to delivering an exceptional client experience.

Bennett joins McCarthy with an impressive 24-year track record of successful business development and construction leadership experience. Most recently, he served as vice president of business development at McCownGordon Construction in Kansas City. His previous construction industry experience also includes business development roles with the Lenexa, Kansas, office of Nabholz Construction; the northern California district of Hensel Phelps; and the Texas division of Martin K. Eby Construction Co.

McCarthy's Kansas City office is currently leading a diverse portfolio of local projects, including the $270 million expansion of the Tomahawk Creek Wastewater Treatment Facility in Leawood, Kansas; the Johnson County Medical Examiner's Facility in Olathe, Kansas; and the new Merriam Community Center. McCarthy, which ranks as the nation's third-largest healthcare builder (Modern Healthcare, 2019), also has numerous projects with major healthcare providers in the area.

An active supporter of the local community, Bennett's civic involvement includes serving on the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce's Real Estate Committee Advisory Board of Directors, the legislative committee of the Civic Council of Kansas City, the Olathe Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Advisory Board of Directors of the Urban Land Institute (ULI Kansas City). He's a graduate of Kansas City Tomorrow, a leadership development program sponsored by the Civic Council of Kansas City.

A LEED accredited professional, Bennett earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of Northern Colorado. He and his family reside in Leawood, Kansas.
