Akin Gump Receives Three Recognitions for Pro Bono Efforts by Law Society of Hong Kong

(Hong Kong) - Akin Gump is pleased to share that the firm and two of its lawyers have been recognized at the Law Society of Hong Kong Pro Bono and Community Work Recognition Programme 2021.

Among the firm recognitions, Akin Gump's Hong Kong office received the Silver Law Firm Award, which "recognizes local or foreign law firms with outstanding contribution in the provision of pro bono services" from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021.

At the individual level, Akin Gump litigation partner Daniel Cohen and corporate associate Calvin Ng received the Gold Award, which recognizes "members, registered foreign lawyers and trainee solicitors who have performed pro bono and community work of not less than 100 hours" during the same timeframe.

Last month, Law Society recognized the firm with the Excellence in Pro Bono award for its collaboration with other global law firms to achieve lasting and dramatic change through their combined "expertise and resources to provide pro bono assistance on a large scale to help Asylum Aid deal with statelessness within the UK."
