In the Sea of Japan in the waters of Peter the Great Bay, the search and strike force and the corvette Gromkiy conducted a joint exercise on the search and destruction of a submarine.
Small-size anti-submarine ships Koreyets and Metel operated as part of the search and strike force. The ships trained to search for a submarine of a mock enemy, which was one of the diesel submarines of the Pacific Fleet. The submarine was to avoid being detected by the ships.
Il-38 ASW airplane was involved to support the actions of anti-submarine ships.
Having detected the submarine, the ships Koreyets and Metel fired a salvo of depth bombs at the coordinates.
