The City of St. Louis has opened registration for National Night Out block parties through the City's website. St. Louis' National Night Out will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, from 6pm to 9pm.

"Building trust between community and police helps officers solve crimes while making neighborhoods across our city safer," said Interim Public Safety Director Dr. Dan Isom. "National Night Out is a great opportunity for neighbors to come together, get to know each other, and organize for safer streets."

National Night Out is designed to:

  • Heighten awareness of crime and drug prevention;
  • Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs;
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships;
  • Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

"National Night Out is another community engagement opportunity for citizens and officers to come together as one," said Interim Chief Michael Sack. "When citizens know their neighborhood officers, it helps foster relationships that can enhance community participation in crime fighting measures."

Unlike most cities across the country which hold theirs in August, St. Louis' National Night Out is held in October. On this day, street blocking permit fees are waived for those holding NNO block parties. Signups will close Friday, September 9 at 5pm.
