Scrub up and head in to theatre with Elstree and Borehamwood Museum

Start at Holby City's main reception desk, get into scrubs, wash up and head in to open heart surgery with Elstree and Borehamwood's latest exhibition.Watch our short YouTube video(https://youtu.be/tx5ma4DlrNo)to find out more about the exhibition from the hospital reception desk, through to the operating theatre with prosthetics, costumes, props, as well as photographs and exclusive clips from behind the scenes. The museum has worked alongside Holby City to celebrate 20 years of the BBC's medical drama, which follows the highs and lows of the staff and patients at the hospital.
Dave Armitage, Manager of Elstree and Borehamwood Museum, said: 'I am delighted that our museum is helping Holby City celebrate 20 years on screen.

'Our volunteers have worked alongside Holby City to create a fantastic exhibition that lifts the surgical screen and allows you to peak behind the camera.

'Not only can you see some of the weird and wonderful props, the costumes, but watch clips about what goes in to making Holby City. It's really fun, interactive and free, so pop along for an hour or two.'

Simon Harper, Executive Producer at Holby City, said: 'I'm so delighted to see Holby celebrated in this wonderful way, not only as one of the nation's most beloved dramas but also for the important place the production holds in the local community, a relationship we cherish. The exhibition is brilliant, informative, witty and fascinating, and I can't wait for people to see it.'

The free exhibition runs until 25 April.

Elstree and Borehamwood Museum is open four days a week, Tuesday to Thursday between midday and 6pm, and on Saturday from 10am to 3pm.
