DALLAS - Tonight, district families won't want to miss the district's first virtual town hall to share updates and feedback on the federal ESSER funds. The meeting will focus on how the district has invested the funds, provide feedback about more than 70 activities underway and discuss future investments. The town hall will begin at 6 p.m., and participants must register ahead of time at www.dallasisd.org/esser.

A second town hall on this topic is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 14.

District pushes campaign to promote internet safety and digital citizenship
On Dec. 2, Dallas ISD School Leadership officials, campus staff, and guests from Flocabulary-a Brooklyn-based company that publishes educational songs and videos-recognized J.P. Starks Math, Science and Technology Vanguard as the most engaged school in a campaign to raise awareness on internet safety and digital citizenship. This districtwide effort aims to promote responsible cyber usage, safety, etiquette, and best practices among middle and high school students.

SOC football team's media availability is today
SOC will have media availability at 4:30 today, Wednesday, Dec. 8, ahead of their state semifinal game against Lubbock-Cooper High School. The meeting will be at their football practice field on campus, where Coach Todd and select players will be available for interviews. Media will be allowed to observe 20 minutes of practice for b-roll.

Winter break meal distribution
When the district closes for the winter break, we want to ensure that all of our students have access to delicious and nutritious food. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 20 and Dec. 27, Food and Child Nutrition Services will distribute packages with a week's worth of meals at 22 high schools.
