The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurated a workshop on International Women's Day here today. The day long Workshop was organised by DoPT on the theme of 'Women Empowerment, Opportunities and Challenges.'
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Jitendra Singh said we need to look at women's issues in a new perspective of the 21st century. He said, today women are leading in almost all fields including the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and the Armed Forces. The Minister said, the challenge for women today is how to use their evolving potential to the best.
Several women achievers in various fields and creativity were awarded on the occasion.
Secretary, DoPT, Shri C. Chandramouli, Director General, Doordarshan, Smt. Supriya Sahu and renowned classical dance artist Smt. Rama Vaidyanathan were also present at the event.
