Resurfacing project to begin in Carroll County

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - A resurfacing project on Missouri Route 41 in Carroll County near De Witt will begin on Saturday, May 11. Capital Paving and Construction, LLC, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, has also resurfaced Chariton County Route 5 near Salisbury and Linn County Route 5 near Marceline as part of this project.

Beginning Saturday, May 11, crews will narrow Route 41 to one lane with flaggers directing motorists through the work zone. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place. Crews expect to complete paving on Monday, May 13. Shoulder rock and pavement markings will follow for all routes.

A schedule for the Route 5 closures under the BNSF Railroad bridge in Marceline (Linn County) and the Norfolk Southern Railroad bridge west of Salisbury (Chariton County) for concrete repairs has not been determined yet.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change. Know before you go by visiting the MoDOT Traveler Information Map for work zone information and road conditions at http://traveler.modot.org/map/, or downloading from your smart phone's app store.
