TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Chinese New Year Parade and Celebration

On Sunday, February 18, 2018, the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association will have the Chinese New Year Parade and Celebration in the District of Columbia. In conjunction with this event, there will be street closures and parking restrictions that motorists should take into account.

On Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm the following streets will be closed:

  • I Street NW between 5th and 6th Street
  • H Street NW between 6th and 7th Street

On Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 2:00pm to 3:00 pm the following streets will be closed:

  • I Street NW between 5th and 8th Street
  • 8th St NW between I and G Street
  • G Street between 8th and 7th Street
  • 7th Street between G and H Street

On Sunday, February 18, 2018 the following parking restrictions will be in place from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. There will be no parking allowed on the following streets:

  • I Street NW between 5th and 6th Street
  • H Street NW between 6th and 7th Street

On Sunday, February 18, 2018 the following parking restrictions will be in place from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. There will be no parking allowed on the following streets:

  • I Street between 6th and 8th Street
  • 8th St NW between I and G Street
  • G Street between 8th and 7th Street
  • 7th Street between G and H Street

Motorists traveling in the area of this event may experience delays and should consider alternative routes, if possible. The Metropolitan Police Department and the DC Department of Transportation would like to remind motorists to pay full attention whenever operating any motor vehicle and to be mindful of heavy pedestrian traffic that may be associated with special events. These street closings are subject to change without notice based upon unanticipated events and prevailing conditions.
