On May 15-16, Tashkent will host the Central Asian Internet Governance Forum (CAIGF), which will bring together representatives of ministries, communication administrations, law enforcement agencies, international organizations, companies and research centers.
It is organized by the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan and the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in the country.
The main objectives of the event are organization and strengthening an open platform for discussing policy issues on Internet governance in Central Asia and increasing participation of the region's countries in shaping the global digital economy.
Representatives of the expert community will discuss global and national approaches to Internet governance, cybersecurity issues and protection of critical infrastructure, development of the DNS industry and trends in digital infrastructure.
The first forum was held in 2016 in Bishkek, in 2017 in Dushanbe, and in Almaty in 2018.
