The Supreme Council of Women and Bahrain Bourse organized a session targeting female beneficiaries of the early retirement pension program on 5th May 2019 as part of the National Guidance Program for Bahraini Women, with the aim of introducing the beneficiaries to the various investment opportunities available at the Bourse and the fundamentals of investment. Bahrain Bourse organizes those sessions on a periodical basis to enhance investment awareness targeting various age groups within the society.
On this occasion, Shaikh Khalifa Bin Ebrahim Alkhalifa said: 'This initiative comes as part of the Bourse's efforts aiming at spreading investment awareness among all spectrums of audiences of the Bahraini society. We appreciate the efforts and commitment of the Supreme Council for Women in organizing this session as part of the National Guidance Program for Bahraini Women.'
During the session, presented by Mr. Faisal Saleh, Head of Trading Operations at Bahrain Bourse, various topics were covered including the importance of saving & investment, the types of investment products available for investors at the Bourse, concepts of risk and return, and how to build an investment portfolio. The session concluded with the mechanism of trading at the Bourse and the stocks selection process.
It is worth mentioning that the National Guidance Program for Bahraini Women comes in line with the implementation of the Resolution issued by the Supreme Council for Women in this regard, during the meeting held at 10th December 2018, and based on the directives of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa to support the Government's initiative in implementing the Fiscal Balance Program, in which one its main pillars is the Voluntary Retirement Scheme.
