Servicemen of the flamethrower unit of the NBC protection of the Southern Military District destroyed the manpower of the mock enemy with a high-power thermobaric charge during a two-way battalion tactical exercise in the Volgograd region.

As part of the active phase of the exercise held at the Prudboy combined-arms training ground, the personnel of the motorized rifle formation managed to defeat critical enemy targets using reconnaissance and strike complexes, operational-tactical aviation aircraft.

Correction of fire and assessment of the results of fire damage were carried out using unmanned aircraft systems.

The exercise is conducted as part of a bilateral command post exercise for command and control of the district troops in the South-Western strategic direction under the leadership of the commander of the Southern Military District.

The command post is attended by formations and military units of the Southern Military District, as well as units of military bases deployed in Abkhazia, Armenia, South Ossetia, as well as part of the forces of the Black Sea Fleet, the Caspian Flotilla, which will practice actions in the waters of the Black and Caspian Seas.

In total, about 8 thousand servicemen were involved in the command post with the associations and formations of the Southern Military District, about 350 units of weapons and military equipment from the combined arms armies, air force and air defence formations and units of the combat arms and special forces of district subordination, the forces of the Black Sea Fleet and Caspian flotilla.
