4/30/24 Homicide
(PEORIA, IL) Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at approximately 7:21 p.m. a Peoria police officer patrolling the 100 block of E. Forrest Hill heard shots being fired. Seconds later a Shot Spotter alert of three rounds fired was activated.
When officers arrived, they located an adult male with an apparent gunshot wound.
The victim was immediately transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
The identity of the victim and cause of death will be released by the Peoria County Coroner.
Members of the Peoria Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Special Investigations Division (SID) Crime Scene Unit (CSU), and Patrol Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.
There is currently no suspect information. This incident is under investigation.
