Webster would eventually take control of the match, but the first half was evenly-played between the two sides. Illinois College took the lead first, scoring on an unassisted goal from in the 25th minute. The Gorloks failed to clear the ball and Saitta volleyed a shot past an out-of-position Matt Coffey in goal for a 1-0 edge.
With time ticking down until halftime, Webster equalized in the 42nd minute. After a throw-in, Hunter Olaso delivered a simple back-post cross that reached Matt Huster for a first-touch finish past to make it 1-1 at the break.
In the second half, it was all Webster. The Gorloks controlled possession and outshot the Blueboys, 13-0, after halftime. Twice the visitors were denied by the crossbar and a go-ahead goal that felt inevitable was finally scored by Justin Schmidt in the 78th minute off of an assist from Colby Kapp. Though IC had a few promising through balls down the stretch, nothing resulted in a shot and the Gorloks salted away the win.

Illinois College is back home for two matches at England Stadium this weekend. First up is a 1 p.m. matchup against Coe College on Saturday afternoon.
