President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, received a number of congratulatory cables on the occasion of the 78^th Independence Day, most notably from Russian President, Vladimir Putin, King Abdullah II of Jordan, Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad II, and Deputy Emir Sheikh, Abdullah bin Hamad II.

Russian President:

Russian President Putin affirmed his confidence that "Thanks to our joint efforts, we will be able to ensure the further development of friendly relations between Russia and Lebanon", stressing Russia's permanent commitment to supporting Lebanon's sovereignty and unity, and the inadmissibility of any outside interference in its internal affairs.

President Putin also indicated his pleasure "To extend my congratulations to you on the occasion of the National Day of the Lebanese Republic, which is Independence Day".

"Relations between Russia and Lebanon are based on the traditions of friendship. I am assured that, thanks to our joint efforts, we will be able to ensure its further development for the benefit of our two peoples, and in order to enhance security and stability in the Middle East region. I would like to confirm Russia's permanent commitment to supporting the sovereignty and unity of Lebanon, and the impermissibility of any outside interference in the internal affairs of your country" the telegram stated.

Jordanian King:

Jordanian King's telegram stated:

"I am pleased to take advantage of the occasion of the brotherly Lebanese people's celebrations of the independence day of the brotherly Lebanese Republic, to send to His Excellency my dear brother, on my behalf and on behalf of the people of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and its government, my warmest congratulations and most sincere fraternal sentiments, asking the Almighty God to restore this occasion. Your Excellency, while you are enjoying good health, and your brotherly people, whose aspirations for further progress and prosperity have been fulfilled".

Qatari Prince:

President Aoun had received a congratulatory cable from the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad II, on the occasion of the 78^th anniversary of independence, in which he asked God to "Preserve the brotherly Lebanese Republic and the brotherly Lebanese people and to perpetuate progress and prosperity".

The President of the Republic also received a similar telegram from the Deputy Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad II.​
