Memorial Day observance

The Village of Hoffman Estates invites residents and veterans of the Armed Services to attend this year's Memorial Day observance, Monday, May 30 at 10 a.m. The event is being held jointly with the Village of Schaumburg.

The observation will begin with the lowering of the flag at the Hoffman Estates Veterans' Memorial, followed by a 10:45 a.m. observance at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Schaumburg.

The Hoffman Estates Veterans' Memorial is located outside the Police Department, at 411 W. Higgins Road. St. Peter Lutheran Church is located at 202 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg.

Impacts to Village services

In observance of the Memorial Day holiday, Village Hall will be closed on Monday, May 31. The following Village services will also be impacted:

• Garbage, recycling and yard waste collection will be delayed one day in observance of the holiday. Monday collection will be on Tuesday, and Wednesday collection will be Thursday.
• The Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC) will not hold its electronics recycling drop-off at Village Hall on Monday, May 30; the service will resume on Monday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to noon.
