MTE sponsored ‘Celebration Under the Stars’ for 2nd straight year

"CelebrationUnder the Stars," the annual Murfreesboro Independence Day Celebration at the Fountains at Gateway, was sponsored by Middle Tennessee Electric. It was the second year that MTE has partnered with the City to celebrate July 4^th with a fireworks show presented by Pyro Shows.

"On behalf of the City Council and Murfreesboro residents, I want to thank Middle Tennessee Electric for helping power Celebration Under the Stars as the presenting partner," said Murfreesboro Mayor Shane McFarland. "We appreciate our partnership with MTE in many areas, including the annual celebration at the Fountains at Gateway."

"Celebration Under the Stars is a wonderful, family-oriented way for Murfreesboro-area residents to celebrate America's independence," said MTE president and CEO Chris Jones. "Middle Tennessee Electric is always happy to support the communities we serve and particularly proud to do so on the Fourth of July in our hometown."

The July 4th event included food trucks, music, and activities in the afternoon with "The Pilots" taking the stage at 7 p.m. and fireworks by Pyro Shows beginning at dusk.

The Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department appreciates the hard work of partnering City departments for contributing to the event including Murfreesboro Police Department and the Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Department.
