ERCE at the Petroleum Geology of the Southern South Atlantic Conference

ERCE's Principal Structural Geologist Dr Tina Lohr was a co-convenor and chaired a number of the technial sessions.

The Petroleum Geology of the Southern South Atlantic conference was the second hybrid event at the Geological Society's Burlington House in London. The conference was well attended both in-person and online, with members of the audience joining from all over the world. The high-quality presentations ranged from plate tectonics and basin modelling to turbidite & contourite systems, source rock evaluation and newly identified prospects, covering both the South American and African margins of the southern South Atlantic.

The second day of the conference culminated in a hands-on seismic workshop - ION provided several crustal-scale seismic lines to annotate and colour in, which was enjoyed by all attendees at Burlington House.
