Shooting on Paladin Way in Rio Linda

At approximately 4:15 AM on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, North Patrol Deputies responded to the 7100 block of Paladin Way in Rio Linda regarding a shooting at a residence. Deputies arrived on scene and discovered at least two homes that had been shot at, with one appearing to be the main target having been struck a significant amount more than the other.

Crime Scene Investigators arrived on scene and recovered over 30 bullet casings and other items of evidentiary value. Deputies canvassed the neighborhood and also discovered surveillance video capturing the incident. The Sheriff's Gang Suppression Unit has since taken over this investigation, as they believe the shooting was gang-related. Detectives believe one of the homes was directly targeted.
