Homicide

Murrieta, CA - On Friday, August 12, 2022, at 10:35 a.m., the Murrieta Police Department Communications Center received a 911 call of a female needing medical aid in the parking lot of the police station. Officers from the Murrieta Police Department and Paramedics from Murrieta Fire & Rescue responded and found a female suffering from a traumatic injury in a vehicle in the parking lot to the front of Murrieta City Hall, next to the police station. Police officers and paramedics began life saving efforts, but she was pronounced deceased. A male subject was detained at the scene and there is no threat to the public.

Initial investigation indicates the female suffered her injury in another city and not in Murrieta, but the exact location is still being determined. Due to the ongoing investigation, the identities of the male and female will not be released at this time. More information will be released at a later time.
