President Zourabichvili Pays Official Visit to Austria

President Salome Zourabichvili is set to pay an official visit to the Republic of Austria, the first-ever official visit by a Georgian head of state to the country. The visit will begin with a working meeting with Georgians working in culture and medicine in Austria on 11 October.

On 12 October, an official welcome ceremony will be held at the Hofburg Palace with Federal President Alexander van der Bellen, after which the two Presidents will meet face-to-face, and then in an extended format, before participating in a press conference. Later that day, the two heads of state will open the Georgia-Austria Business Forum, to be attended by Austrian and Georgian business leaders.

On 13 October, the President will meet with H.E. Helga Schmid, Secretary General of the OSCE.

The delegation of Georgia includes:

  • Natia Sulava, Head of the Administration of the President;
  • Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, Ambassador of Georgia to Austria, to the OSCE and Permanent Representative to International Organizations based in Vienna;
  • Teimuraz Janjalia, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs;
  • Genadi Arveladze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development;
  • Ketevan Tatoshvili, Adviser to the President on Health, Business and Social Affairs;
  • Liana Jervalidze, Adviser to the President on Energy, Caspian and Black Sea Issues;
  • Konstantine Natsvlishvili, Adviser to the President on Education, Culture and Science.
