A planned tactical flight exercise with a naval aviation helicopter regiment has begun in the Baltic Fleet

The crews of the Baltic Fleet's naval aviation helicopters have started planned practical actions as part of a tactical flight exercise (LTU).

More than 20 crews of Mi-24 and Mi-8 attack and military transport helicopters, as well as Ka-27 and Ka-27PS ship-borne helicopters of the mixed helicopter regiment of the Baltic Fleet naval aviation unit were involved in the exercise.

During the training flights, tactical episodes will be played to work out tasks for their intended purpose - fire support for units of the Baltic Fleet army corps, destruction of command posts, armored vehicles and manpower of the mock enemy, conducting aerial reconnaissance and destroying air targets, searching for and destroying surface ships and submarines of the mock enemy in the sea ranges of the Baltic Fleet.

All combat training tasks are performed by naval aviation pilots both during the day and at night. About 50 sorties are planned for training and combat use.
