Washington, DC - House Foreign Affairs Committee Lead Republican Michael McCaul released the following statement after the Biden Administration said it was 'deeply disappointed' the People's Republic of China rejected a second World Health Organization (WHO) investigation into the origins of COVID-19.

'As I have repeatedly said, the Biden Administration should never have doubled down on the WHO conducting a second investigation into the origins of COVID-19 after their first one was so tainted. Now it's clear that will never happen. I am once again calling for a congressional investigation into the origins of the pandemic. Since releasing my initial report last year, I have continued to investigate this matter and will be releasing an updated report at the beginning of August. It will include previously unreported information providing further evidence the virus could have been genetically modified, and that the Wuhan Institute of Virology was the likely origination point of the outbreak. I stand ready to work with Republicans and Democrats alike to get to the bottom of the greatest coverup in human history.'
