Peter Meijer Votes Against Stopping Domestic Terrorism

This week, the House passed the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act, following the racially-motivated mass shooting in Buffalo, New York. The legislation will set up offices specifically focused on tracking and analyzing domestic terrorist activity at the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice and the FBI with the goal of preventing devastating attacks, rather than just reacting after the fact.

Peter Meijer joined 202 other Republicans in the House to oppose legislation to prevent domestic terrorist attacks. Meijer's no vote is especially damning as Michigan faces a rise in antisemitic hate crimes.

DCCC spokesperson Elena Kuhn:

"Peter Meijer joining House Republicans to oppose actions to prevent mass shootings and acts of domestic terrorism is cowardly and indefensible."
