From 25 to 29 October, the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) is being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre in the United Arab Emirates, the first Arab country to host the congress since its inception in 1950. With a 60-strong delegation of experts, engineers and executives led by Chairman & CEO Philippe Baptiste and Chief Operating Officer Lionel Suchet, the French space agency CNES is a prominent presence at this must-attend event for France's space community.
During the five-day event, CNES is presenting its programmes to the world space community, focusing on the three priority themes of climate, exploration and applications, giving the agency the opportunity to share its expertise in these key domains and further exchanges between its subject matter experts and their international counterparts.
This year's IAC is also the occasion for CNES to promote the 73rd IAC to be hosted in Paris from 18 to 22 September 2022, a great opportunity for the French space community to extend its international reach. To this end, the agency is notably organizing a French Night on Wednesday 27 October, where it has invited representatives of industry, institutions and space agencies to present plans for IAC Paris 2022.
Dubai is also currently hosting the World Expo running from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022. CNES will be present throughout this event inside the France Pavilion with a series of animations on the theme of solar system exploration.
